HEAD COACH

Gavid Vickers is a licensed LTA Level 3 coach and PTR Instructor. “I am looking forward to working with anyone who either wants to start playing tennis or get their children involved in this fantastic sport that has given me so much,” he says.

“I have been playing tennis for 20 years and have competed in all levels of the Kent League, including Division One.

As such, I have an understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level, and I look forward to helping and inspiring our talented juniors to reach their potential.” Exciting future developments at the club for juniors include external competition visits, regular internal tournaments and performance squad opportunities.

“Furthermore,” Gavid adds, “we will be adding to our Adult coaching programme that has already helped over 20 new members assimilate into the club membership.

Gavid has the following key goals for this season:

1. To grow numbers within the Mini Tennis programme, through a combination of referral and outreach activities in local schools.

2. To increase the adult coaching programme including the expansion of Cardio Tennis.

3. To increase participation levels within the tennis club, in line with LTA goals by targeting sports funding opportunities and creating free experiences for people to enjoy.

Gavid concludes, “ I am committed to continued professional development and will work tirelessly for the benefit of the club and its members.”
