Covid-19 – 5th Nov Lock Down information.

I am very sorry to inform you that in accordance with the Government regulations we have no alternative now, but to close the club and grounds from Thursday 5th Nov up until and including Weds 2nd Dec 2020.

I would ask that all members please adhere to the government guidelines and restrictions imposed upon the club during this time as failure to comply would be damaging to the Club.

For further detailed information: Please find below letter from Kent Tennis as advised by the L.T.A.

Dear all,

It is with regret that we advise you, following the latest guidelines agreed today by Parliament, that the LTA have confirmed that tennis activity in England is not permitted for the duration of the national lockdown, as a result of the closure of all outdoor and indoor facilities. This takes effect from tomorrow, Thursday 5 November through to (and including) Wednesday 2 December 2020. Please can clubs and venues ensure all their members are aware of the restrictions that will be in place from tomorrow.

In the short term, this means the following have all been postponed for this same period, and further instructions will be provided by relevant organisers following further review and when more information is available:

Kent Tennis Head Adult Inter-Club Leagues – Harri Izzard will be in contact with Fixtures Secretaries once all impacts have been reviewed.
National Junior Winter League – Siobhan Butler will be in contact with Club Junior Contacts once all impacts have been reviewed.
Kent Seniors Championships – Keith Clark/Siobhan Butler will be in contact with players to provide revised dates for each round, where necessary.
Junior County Squad Training – Harri Izzard will be in contact with parents and coaches regarding impacts upon the cancelled sessions.

Please can all clubs continue to check the LTA website and follow their advice. Their latest guidance can be found here:

https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19—latest-advice/

Finding ways to keep fit and active away from the tennis court will not be easy for everyone, but I do hope you, and your loved ones, are all able to stay safe and well at this difficult time.

Warmest wishes

Phil
